Professional Bio:
As I develop my practice as an intern at Perez, my goal is to nurture an embodied, trauma-informed, psychodynamic practice with a wide range of people. I primarily draw from IFS, psychodynamic theory, somatics, existential concepts, and Buddhist psychology. I am strongly committed to anti-racist, feminist, queer, and disability justice ethics, but I will never see you as merely a sum of your identity categories. I cannot know what it’s like to be you or to have gone through what you’ve gone through, but I am here to do my best to offer you deep recognition and support as we work patiently through those details.
I have a background in supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through
crisis intervention case management,, and psychoeducation. I have volunteered on and off
doing harm reduction work with street-based sex workers, have organized and participated in other mutual aid efforts for Philadelphians in need, and have worked doing humanitarian aid for migrants in the Sonoran Desert, near the border. I strongly believe that no human is illegal and that survivors of all kinds of trauma deserve space to unpack their experiences with self-compassion and dignity in as comfortable and permissive a container as possible.
I am interested in working with teens and adults around the following issues: trauma and
complex trauma; grief and loss; chronic illness; ADHD; substance use and other addiction
issues; codependency; sex and relationship issues (including non-monogamy); gender identity confusion and gender dysphoria; body image issues; eating disorders; shame; social anxiety; climate anxiety; and depression and suicidality. I will tailor our time to whatever needs you express, but I am willing to gently challenge you when I see that you may be expressing shame and self-limiting or self-harmful perceptions. I will always approach with curiosity and compassion and will always be open to receiving your feedback. My greatest wish is to create a collaborative space where you can explore, in close relationship to another person, your most grounded, self-accepting, and liberating aspects of yourself.
