Meet the Team
Alex Clements, LSW (she/they)
Psychotherapist
My desire to become a therapist comes from an innate want to help others. As someone who has walked her own mental health journey, I know all too well the challenges we can face. Throughout my educational path, I've held one belief close- everyone deserves to feel safe to be who they truly are. Life does not always make that easy, and learning to cope and heal shouldn't have to be done alone. I believe genuine human connection is one of the greatest tools to heal.
My goal as a therapist is to be someone safe so I can help my clients explore and grow. I genuinely believe that it is my privilege to walk alongside clients who are on their own journey. My work is through a humanistic lens- I believe my clients are the experts on their own experiences and that they need to be supported, not told what to do. My therapeutic practice is affirmative, trauma informed, and utilizes tools from evidence based practices like CBT and ACT to help clients work through whatever might be challenging them.
I work with older teens and young adults going through life transitions with particular focus on those within the LGBTQ+ community. In addition, I work with adults on a number of topics including depression, anxiety, women's issues, and life transitions. If you're ready to take the next step, I would be delighted to help you explore all the different parts of your life.
